Gallery - Sussex County Volunteer Firefighter's Association

At the January 26th meeting of the Sussex County Volunteer Firemen’s Association David Ruff of Blades was named the organization’s Firefighter of the Year.

David joined the Fire Company in 1974 and has held the offices of Deputy Chief, Ambulance Captain. He also served as President of the Company for three years. He has been named E.M.T. of the year and has been a top responder for many years.

In 2009 the Blades Vol. Fire Company celebrated its’ 75th anniversary. David was the chairman of the activities and led a very successful event.

His service has not been limited to the Fire Company as he has served on the town council for twelve years and served as Mayor for four.
